The positive opinion was provided after the EU set new standards for worker safety, and Akeso developed a new formulation of CI-FER to meet the new tighter standards for all feed additives. The application for approval of CI-FER will now be reviewed by the EU Commission, and hopefully voted into EU law by the end of the third quarter of this year. Simon Williams, CEO of Akeso Biomedical, said, “We are very excited to bring our CI-FER additive to the European market initially for weaners and later for poultry. Not only does CI-FER improve animal health and performance, but it offers significant potential for improving food safety.” About Akeso Biomedical  Akeso Biomedical, Inc. is developing a new generation of compounds, known as Fe3C, with broad-spectrum activity to fight bacterial infections and prevent foodborne illnesses.
