VIC Tech, a venture studio building life science companies from university and federal lab innovations, announced today the appointment of Dr. Jeff White to its Strategic Advisory Board (SAB). Dr. White’s career spans leadership roles at Emory Healthcare, the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI), and as Principal Research Scientist at Georgia Institute of Technology, where he oversaw multi-site GLP and GMP-compliant operations that achieved over 70 FDA medical device regulatory clearances and approvals. In 2018, he played a pivotal role in supporting the first-ever pediatric 3D-printed tracheal splint implant in Georgia, addressing critical needs for children with tracheo-bronchomalacia.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. White was part of a multidisciplinary team including Georgia Tech, the U.S. Army, Exxon Mobil, Delta Airlines, and Siemens that developed and commercialized over 1.5 million face shields for public and private organizations, securing the largest FEMA contract in the first six months of the crisis. In 2021, he co-founded the Center for MedTech Excellence, a partnership between Georgia Tech and GCMI, supported by a $3M U.S. Economic Development Administration grant to help startups scale medical technology companies. Most recently, as GCMI’s Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. White contributed to the successful asset purchase of T3 Labs by Veranex, a private equity-backed portfolio company. He now consults for MedTech startups and actively invests as an angel investor.

“What makes Jeff’s addition so powerful is his ability to connect the dots between university research, startup formation, and commercialization at scale. That’s exactly where VIC Tech operates — and his perspective will strengthen our ability to repeatedly build companies that matter.”

At VIC Tech, Dr. White will advise early-stage life science companies, helping ensure strategic development, regulatory compliance, and market-ready innovation. His deep expertise in bridging university research, MedTech startups, and venture capital aligns closely with VIC Tech’s mission to advance life-changing technologies efficiently and responsibly.
