Vixiar Medical's Noninvasive Point of Care Device for Assessing Cardiac Response to Acute Volume Changes

Vixiar Medicalâ„¢ Logo copyThe study discusses the development and testing of Vixiar Medical's noninvasive device called Indicor, designed to assess changes in central volume and filling pressure by measuring the pulse response during a Valsalva maneuver. In a proof-of-concept study with healthy participants, the device was able to detect an increase in Valsalva Pulse Response (VPR) when participants underwent a passive leg raise (PLR), indicating an acute increase in central volume and filling pressure. This suggests that the Indicor device may be useful for tracking changes in thoracic volume and could have potential applications in monitoring patients with heart failure or other conditions affecting central volume and filling pressure.
